  • Conclusion:

The JWBS-14DXPRO features one of three different builds.

You can order your saw in basic or deluxe configurations which are identical except for the rip fence system.

Or, if you feel ready to step up to a really big beefy machine, you can opt for the pro model that I have here.

The pro model comes equipped with ultra stout cast iron extension wings, so sturdy they won’t budge when bolt torqued down tight!

The rest of the saw is equally heavy duty. For example, all three models have induction hardened 10-1/2″ steel pulleys.

The deluxe and pro models have anodized aluminum upper wheel housings for smooth trunnion motion.

The cast-iron extension wings are an absolute must if you are planning to rip full sheets of plywood or longer stock on this saw.

They not only give the saw a solid foundation but they also support the outfeed end of your workpiece until it clears the back of the table at which point gravity takes over and down it goes.

If you have ever tried to rip a sheet of plywood on a contractor-style saw without its wings extended then you know what I am talking about.

The cast-iron wings are not only incredibly stout but they also provide a nice flat surface to which you can mount feather boards for more effective control while ripping.

Pros

  • The fence appears to be accurate and easy to make adjustments.
  • Solid, heavy-duty stand with large feet.
  • Dust collection is very good without a dust collection hookup.

Cons

  • It is a large saw, and the rip capacity of the fence will limit
  • The blade that was included had excessive run out, although I plan to use a narrower ripping blade anyway.

Features:

High Cutting Capacity!

The 14″ JWBS-14DXPRO gives you the ability to cut efficiently and safely at wider widths than other saws.

Its large capacity complements its powerful motor (3HP/4HP).

The tilting table allows you to tilt 45° left or right for compound miter cuts, beveled tenons, miters, and other joinery.

Variable Speed!

RPM can be adjusted by simply flipping a switch to match the speed to your workpiece material (1250 FPM & 100 FPM).

This feature is invaluable when ripping lumber thin with smaller blades.

We also find it useful when cutting thin laminates as well as veneered plywood; both of which are notorious for burning when worked at the wrong speed.

Heavy-Duty!

The cast-iron extension wings and table provide a stable base for strong cuts and large, long stock including full sheets of plywood and lumber (with or without rip fence).

An oversized pulley provides for smooth belt changes.

Hardened cutting guides will hold their precision through countless resawing sessions yet require minimal adjustment over time.

A riving knife is standard equipment to minimize the risk of kickback.

The upper guard easily flips up (for use with the riving knife), down (for ripping or tenoning) to fit your needs.

A Dust Collection Port is Standard!

At the rear of the saw just below the table are two 4″ dust swivel ports, one for a dust collector and the other can be used as a small shop vacuum port.

The dust collection is excellent, even without a ducted system, and reduces clean-up time to nearly zero!

The Jet JWS Series saws are designed to give you years of trouble-free operation.

With minimal maintenance and proper setup, the included motor will provide you with power to spare through countless resawing sessions.

The cast-iron extension wings provide a stable foundation for ripping stock large or long.

Designed for Safety!

The JWBS-14DXPRO uses a standard riving knife instead of anti-kickback pawls found on most contractor saws (which are notorious for locking up and requiring time-consuming adjustments).

We feel that if your blade leaves even one tooth in contact with wood during rip cuts then you are asking for trouble using conventional pawls.

Especially when cutting thin laminates, veneered plywood, melamine, etc.

Built-in Blade Guard!

The T-slots in the cast iron wings are perfect for mounting feather boards to which you can attach anti-kickback fingers.

However, for added safety, the JWBS-14DXPRO comes standard with a unique upper guard that rises above the blade when not in use (for rips of course).

High Speed!

Built to support long or wide boards while making sure that your workpiece stays in contact with the rip fence (even when ripping full sheets).

we feel it is an indispensable tool for this saw. We designed it to be adjustable in seconds and capable of supporting up to 200 lbs (depending on wood density).

Upper and Lower Guides!

Everyone wants a saw that is easy to adjust but no one wants a saw that needs adjustment every time you change the blade.

We designed our upper and lower guides with ball-bearing thrust surfaces for smooth movement and high durability.

The cast iron wheels are machined flat and true for years of trouble-free use.

For safety, all moving table saw parts should be properly lubricated and adjusted before attempting any operation.

Failure to heed this warning may result in injury or loss of property!

Jet JWBS-14DXPRO Review: What’re the Experts Say?

In my opinion, the Jet JWBS-14DXPRO would be a good purchase for anyone who wants a reliable saw that will rip full sheets of plywood and lumber.

That’s pretty much every woodworker out there. Read Full Review Here “I can’t think of any other contractor saw that has this level of build quality 14DXPRO made smooth rips with no evidence of deflection at all.

I also ripped some 8/4 hard maple without issue. aside from its relatively lightweight (for a cast iron frame saw anyway).

It makes for very solid performance in an overall package which brings not only excellent safety features but also tools like built-in blade guards, hydraulic blade tensioning, and even riving knives to the table.

I’ll let the saw speak for itself, but I think it’s safe to say that Jet has another winner on its hands. To sum up, this bandsaw is a winner.

If you’re looking for an affordable and feature-rich bandsaw then look no further.

Conclusion:

The Jet JWBS-14DXPRO should be a welcome sight to anyone who has ever used a contractor-style saw before.

It’s simply one of the best performers in its class and just might exceed your expectations as well.

The addition of safety features makes this saw stand alone from other cabinet-style models, but it doesn’t stop there.

This thing has everything that the name brand saws have including riving knives, blade guards, upper/lower cast iron tables.

I’m done blabbering about its greatness. Just go get one and take it for a test drive. If you’re tired of your old saw then I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
